Almost…..?

This book had promise. The story line was pretty predictable, but it is a romance novel, after all.

I found it a bit choppy. Maybe that was an editing issue with the audio recording, but there were many times where, within a chapter, you were in a moment and then all of a sudden it’s weeks later. Felt awkward to me.

I also had trouble with the male narrator’s voice. It was so low that I found myself having to turn up the volume to hear the words clearly. Could be my hearing is no longer as crisp at that low range.

Finally, I know the dad storyline was just background, but considering the serious nature of it, I thought it was a little too easy and therefore hard to take seriously.

All in all, I simply found it only almost met expectations and not at all sure I’ll go forth with the series. Certainly won’t spend a credit on it, but maybe I’d check it out on a 2for1 or other sale. Or if it’s part of the free catalog at some point.
