This is a great story. While it has a few weak points in its portrayal of Holmes it is a good read/listen. Holmes would have known very early and easily who the villain was I did. He would not have continued to allow him to know what he was communicating with the client. He may have had a difficult time proving he was the criminal. Only, because like Moriarty he was cunning and willing to kill to keep his secrets. Plus Holmes would have had a difficult time identifying him. Meaning he would have to prove the guy he knew was the bad guys identity. And for the sake of the story why he was doing what he was doing. Although, I knew why right away which does suggest it would not have been a mystery to Holmes. Knowing who and why are not proof. He also still needed to break his criminal enterprise. Holmeses protector should have had a better fate. I listened to the story at least three times before writing this review. I wanted to be sure I got it right. I would love more Holmes and Watson without the weak points here. Watson could have been written a bit better. However, it was great to see him be a real doctor with real skills. With all of what I said I still really enjoyed the book. The Narrator is excellent he made the story better. I wish there was a second MN visit.
