Dan, the main character lives and thinks completely the opposite of me. It’s not necessarily due to moral beliefs, but more about comfortability and annoyance. The way of Dan, intrigues me though. It’s a simpler and less complicated way of life. I also feel that it’s important to be cautious and aware of security and those with ill intentions. To me, I can’t fathom being as relaxed and easy going as Dan! However much I differ from the main character, he is thought provoking causing me to question a bunch of ideas. Personally, I think the author is downplaying the chaos and destruction that would be going on, even in a small town in the mountains. Whichever way it would really turn out, I am enjoying the series and think it’s more of a light hearted book that one would read for entertainment on the beach or in a chair at the side of a river in front of a cabin…
