Does contain spoilers of a sort. I saw a review that said the story was nuts to have the main character (MC) become a vampire at the end of book one and then not be later in book two. I like how the books handled that. To me it showed how the “radiation from the comet” changed him to adapt to the need of the moment. The antagonist in book one became a werewolf at the end and the only mortal enemy of a werewolf is a vampire, so MC did what was needed to thwart the designs of the antagonist. In book two he struggled with this aspect but the “radiation” adapted him again as he needed it. At first, I was just reading book two because it was book two. I wasn’t impressed with it becoming another werewolf/vampire series, and this would’ve probably been the last of the series I read. However, now I am anticipating book three as we move beyond vampires and werewolves. I look forward to seeing where Susan takes us next.
