Overall the book was good. Nothing in particular stood out and the pacing is overwhelmingly slow. What they need, what they did, and what is gonna happen is very pronounced in this book and that’s why I found it to be slow going. I say good on the book because in the sci-fi universe they didn’t introduce anything new but didn’t butcher what they had by being outlandish. Narrator was pretty good but at times the flow was flattened like he was trying to robot a line he couldn’t figure out.
Story was two thumbs down. Kinda felt a whole 1/3 of the book in the beginning could have been compressed and moved along to have more content. Hopefully book 2 does better.
