it’s not Shakespeare, but it was kinda fun. I guess the best measure of how’s much I liked it is whether I’m going to listen to the next book. I have to admit, I’m a bit hooked on the characters.
There’s not a great deal of character development among the band, but they do go about earning their strength and experience. I thought some of the dialog was a bit hokey, but nothing cringe-worthy. I’m curious enough about this world to take a chance on book 2.
One caution for the casual reader. There’s a lot of role playing detail. Some might find it tedious. I just glazed over it and didn’t try to follow all the detailed nuances. Just something to be aware of, if MMORPG’s are not you’re cup of tea. Forewarned is forearmed.
