This story was a little slow and it took me a while to understand all of what was going on. Jumping from localized happenings on one small planet to interplanetary travellers, conflicts was confusing at first. But the book was free, the protagonist interesting enough and the narrator is absolutely one of the best. So it wasn’t hard to finish and overall enjoyed it I don’t know if I would have purchased the second book in the series just based off of the first. But Audible was offering it free, so, why not? The series just keeps getting better. I’ve finished it up to this point (Bloodline, which I bought as soon as it was available.) I cannot recommend this series highly enough. Now in the process of buying the series in book form.
