The first time I read through the 299 series I read The 43 Colonels first (based on a recommendation that said it could be read alone). The book was somewhat informative that way.
The second time I read through the whole deities I read “43 Colonels” last. Man that made all the difference. It’s an amazingly well thought through book about the logistics of an insurgent war. Outstanding and educational!
