narrator sounds like he’s recording at night, trying to be quiet – little volume variance and chooses to harshly whisper to indicate raised voices. detracts from story by having limited differences in character voices.
story was heavy handed with it’s parallels to mythology, glosses over what could be interesting plot paths in favor of ‘montage moments’ covering years in a matter of paragraphs.
