Mark Goodwin. You expect a level of Christianity if you know anything about the author. I’m a fan of a couple of his books/series, and have listened to some of them repeatedly. This won’t be one of them. Nothing (at least that I saw beforehand) prepared me for a series based on the Rapture. I thought I was getting a EOTWAWKI/SHTF/INCH series, and as such it is a hard miss on that point (obviously, now that I’ve finished the series, but oh well…), but with a critical eye towards the premise of the book I still feel it left unexplained many plot holes that certainly could and I feel should have been addressed. With such detail over the one couple getting married, absolutely nothing was mentioned about the very same night the other couple began sleeping in the same room together – and for the very first time. And then nothing else ever about that situation at all – until the very end of the last book. I won’t dismiss nor do I necessarily seek out books with a Christian message, but as that is the undertow of every Goodwin book, I believe there was a LOT that was never (but should have been) addressed. Especially in afterthought realizing the intent, nature, and theme of the series.

And I’d pay to listen to this narrator read the phone book – his scratchy/gravely voice as just the right edge of snark, humor, and inflection that – IMAO – is perfect for the SHTF/INCH genre.
