First of all great voice acting from Justin Thomas James, Jeff Hayes, Dottie Sacks, and Laurie Catherine Winkle. Coupling that with the sound effects this really is a story that has best experience through audiobook format. The plot and magic system are easy to follow. Bare-bones and basic this is a great series to sync a couple hours into.
This series is not something that I would re-read over and over again to find new plot threads that I found interesting. But definitely something I could listen to on a break after finishing a longer running series.
It’s simplicity is extremely charming. You’re not here for character development or really difficult philosophical questions. You’re here for the fun ride the books take you on.
