I finished the series and I have to say, it seems like the surgery came up with a novel idea but never came up with a story to go with it. I was patiently waiting for the story to develop but it never did. It was just the concept being beaten into the ground until it eventually ended which is a shame because the concept was interesting.
It is because of series like this I got out of the habit of recommendation series to people until I have finished them.
