This book will never win any literary awards, but it is pure fun! I had listened to Mirrorworld and came away thinking that the writer had incredible ideas and potential, but just couldn’t pull it off. So, I hesitated to buy this one. I’m really glad I did.
This was an irreverent, hysterical at times, look at what might have been if Trump had really gotten a Space Force up and running. It never mentions Trump or Biden, and was written well before the election, but it uses fictional characters that are easily identified as them. The first Prez institutes Space Force, only to have the military branch gutted by the next administration. Was left is a handful of misfits who were rejects from other military branches. When they actually have to stop an alien invasion, it turns out that they’re perfectly suited for the work.
If you like the humor of Larry Correia, and especially his Tom Stranger books, you’ll love this as well!
