This book teaches you it’s too easy to think you would never do what the Germans – mostly ordinary men/people (like you & me) – did in World War II. Darkness lurks in all of our hearts; it’s up to us whether we give in to it or not.

This is a well-researched book, and this version also has the author’s reaction to one of his main critics, which is a valuable bonus chapter at the end.

Narration is fine, except the narrator pronounces almost every German word wrong (and there are many in this book). I get that it’s a foreign language for him, but these days you can simply google pronunciations…
