This series is fairly entertaining and has well fleshed out characters. That said, there is a lot of attitude toward the poor fools who failed to prepare and if only they would have been as smart and conscientious as the lead character. There is a serious lack of empathy and situations are presented in a way that suggest the average citizen had it coming when they are killed or die. The book attempts to make people, with liberal political leanings, look stupid. They die because of their stupidity. This is porn for preppers and it gets a little old. The self righteous attitude of the lead character gets old. I must say the writing is good and you get to know the characters. If you can look past the constant “I told you so” message from the main character it’s a fairly entertaining read.
