Second read through, just as good.

Two small notes-

This book in particular seems rushed. A lot going on, and with almost all of it being highly pertinent to both the book arc and the series arc, I can’t think of any that could/should have been cut in order to expound more on the others. The author seems too attached to a page limit/~8hr run time. You’re not paying for paper or tape! For every 1 person you lose because they think it’s ‘too long’ or ‘too detailed’, you’ll gain 2 or 3 people who actively follow the series! If you’re doing it for pure greed, than bust it into 2 books. Regardless- rushing through scenes and cramming things in is the worst of the 3 options.

The second point is a small one, but worth mentioning given that the series is typically one of the better out there at maintaining it’s specific blend of hard science + 1-2 defined handwave technologies. It doesn’t matter how desolate the planet is, it’s not “-200 degrees kelvin”. Interstellar space is ~3 degrees kelvin. Absolute Zero (complete cessation of molecular motion) is 0 degrees kelvin. I would have even given it to you if it was an off the cuff by Bourke, but Cage read it off of a display! You’re better than that.
