Raising young men is by no means for the faint of heart. Most days I felt defeated & truly believed I lost my son. He’s always been a great kid… well mannered, respectful, hard working, behaved & loving. While now he’s almost 17 years old, I’ve noticed a huge change in his attitude towards me over the past 2 years, his decline in grades (although his teacher spoke very highly of him) & is lack of ambition. I know beyond any shadow of doubt that he had not turned to a bad crowd of friends or drugs. In fact, all of his friends are athletes & really are great kids too. I wanted the relationship we once had, where I was on a pedestal & knew he loved his mama. I began to feel as if he truly hated me & that he’d rather do ANYTHING other then ‘deal with me’. I was heartbroken!

I downloaded this book in hopes to gain a new perspective & possibly understand this foreign creature taking up residence in my home. I was absolutely NOT disappointed! Before I knew it, the narrator was describing MY son to a T! The author was precise in explaining why things change & offering tips. Prior to this book, I had a VERY old fashioned mindset… My house, my rules, when I ask a question look me in the eyes when you speak to me, yes ma’am & no sir, I want solutions not problems mentality & I would pry believing he would talk to me if I made him eventually & if he got frustrated because I asked something he could just get over that… by all means I’M HIS MOTHER & he doesn’t need privacy because he came out of my privacy thought process & he knew it! I learned that the direction I went with his upbringing wasn’t helping him grow rather it was creating more confusion in his adolescent but trying to mature mind. I began right away trying little bits & pieces of the advice given in this book a shot & MY KIDS ATTITUDE TOWARDS ME CHANGED 100%! I am only less than a week in to this new approach but already I’ve noticed such a positive change… I feel like I have my son back! Feeling like HE WANTS to share his plans, his struggles & his victories with me is awesome! Once I quit pushing for it, he began to show the initiative he lacked. Already, I am forever grateful for the book “He’s not lazy”! I have 5 boys & look forward to utilizing this mindset on all 5 to help build their confidence as they grow into fine young men.

Thank you Adam Price!
