Nephilim, vampires, and demons… OH MY! This audiobook was a very exciting journey into the paranormal world. Jenn D. Young begins by first taking you to the beginning, with Lorelei and her mother. Telling you this specific part first, in such great and emotionally charged detail, secured my attachment to Lorelei. Ms. Young wrote this story in such a way that you feel intrigued and invested in the characters. The story is unique, not predictable at all. Ms. Young made it easy to envision every detail she described. Vincent is absolute perfection. A true alpha male who will do anything to protect Lorelei. Their chemistry is intense! I can’t wait to see how their relationship develops in books 2 and 3. Lorelei is such a fun character. She’s a strong female lead and I enjoyed watching her grow and learn about herself. Ms. Young has given us an exciting world with interesting characters and laid down a great foundation for this trilogy. I look forward to continuing this journey!
Narrators Sarah Puckett and Tim Paige are a dream team. They expertly bring these characters to life and easily convey their emotions. They gave each character their own voice that fit their personalities perfectly. The tone, flow, and pacing were spot on. I strongly suggest the audiobook version of the book so you can experience what these 2 entertaining storytellers have to offer.
