Mya moves away from her life of crime, violence, gangs and drugs to live with her aunt in the small town of Rixon. She finds it hard to fit in, being one of the 4% of the minority students.

This is Ash and Mya story. Mya made fast friends with 2 girls whose boyfriends are on the football team. Mya, the girl with bouncy curls, dark brown eyes, and caramel skin, caught the eye of Ash. It didn’t matter to him, who she was, where she was from. He knew something was special about her and wanted to know her better. Her troubled past comes to the small town, which causes danger to her and Ash. Will Ash ever forgive her for what happened?

This is a story of Mya taking an opportuity, to accomplish something out of life. To prove it to herself and others that given the chance to overcome living in a bad situation to make life better.

Wen Ross and Sarah Puckett are excellent narrators. They each portrayed each character at their strongest, weakest and most vulnerable moments.
