This could have been a Novella.

I wanted to like this book. Magic and Space, fun, right?
But after spending 3/4 of the book dealing with just one part of the plot, I was just bored.
Really all the build up could have been much quicker as it really didn’t add much to the climax or world building.
If you like endless details on violence and one character’s observations on it, this is the book for you.
