I was very disappointed with this installment. It was so tough to get through. I had to stop and find something else to read before coming back to it. After investing time in the series and despite my interest waning during the fourth book, I stuck it out to see how it all needed. It was anticlimactic in my opinion. All of the couples ending weren’t really about them, but about the Beast and Laurent’s family. I was so mad about that. It didn’t help that most of this book played out like a bad soap opera storyline and there was little to no real supernatural drama. The central villain that we were introduced to in book one doesn’t even get a proper send off. He hardly even appears in the final conflict before he’s defeated. I can’t even. 🙁
