The story was great, as usual. Dean writes a good story. Fun battles, decent dialogue, external and internal as monologue, and great characters. I was a tad put off with the lack of play between the MC and his bud Nick, but in the end, I think I understand why this was the case. Hays and Co with soundbooth did a great job, loved the performance as usual. I recommend this book series to anyone who likes gamelit or LitRPG genres, which I feel are really the same, but I guess there is some distinction between the two, and to each their own. As an aside… And even if it’s never read… Mr. Charles Dean, I know how it feels to be loosing a parent earlier than can be expected and to have the medical jargon told to you and it mean nothing because it does not mean anything if the doctors can do nothing about it. I know how it feels for a parent and a pillar to be lost to you. I am sorry for your loss, and I for one, as a fan of your writing, am proud of you for not losing your work because a pillar of your work has crumbled away. You upheld the integrity and quality expected of you by your fans and the pillar you lost. Knowing how it feels, I have respect for you in this, and your ability. Thank you for the fun. And may your father be blessed, and Rest In Peace.
