Starship Troopers it is definitely not. The book was free & the Audible was real cheap. It was great for helping me wind down & go to sleep. Warning, do not waste any brain cells on this noise (not story). My unpublished students produce material that make them read like Shakespeare in comparison.
An example: 4th day recruits pull 4 foot long semi automatic/ automatic rifles out of a dumpster full of oil & within what the writer suggests 5 minutes they are expert marksman by the 2nd round. This leaves plenty of writing space for drama queens & highly abusive DIs. The drill instructors scream do something without any instruction & then use shock batons & corporal punishments with vindictive glee until the recruits do it right.
If you pay too much attention the inconsistencies will drive you nuts. They cut the straps on the heavy radio, help the fallen recruit up, have a major drama queen episode, put the radio back on the recruit, & continue the long march. Wait! They CUT the straps – HOW? (Never mind).
Yes, I know what I said. I have some VERY low students that I give extra attention to & I want to remember their work so I can gently guide them without discouraging them.
I read a lot covering a large sampling of authors. Sometimes this means I find some real gems or complete trash. My forays help me keep up with new trends.
Apparently this series has 16 separate waste of data space out there. This is a sad commentary on our country’s once proud need to strive for excellence.
If this author has 16 out there then people are enjoying it so you might too.
