I don’t know if it was the monotone voice of the narrator‘s but I just couldn’t get into this book. I had to keep going back every so often to finish listening to it. It had some romance but very little. More about what it was like to be abused physically and mentally. Some of it was unbelievable. As an abused person myself. I was physically and mentally abused by my husband. I know what it’s like. And even I would’ve been a lot smarter than what this woman was. Maybe back in the 50s and 60s women wouldn’t report their abuse. But in this book she had so much evidence. And she also had people by her side to help her. I guess I want to try and get my money back on this. as I didn’t use the credit I paid $7.95 for it plus tax. So it’s not a book I would listen to again.
