I’ve read just about every series and every book by Mark Goodwin. I am a public school leader who has to constantly guard my beliefs from others due to my profession and the liberal hive mind of those with whom I work. I truly enjoy the way that Mark weaves the cast of characters from every walk of life and every stage of belief or unbelief into a ‘story’ that has just as must potential as any other to depict the end of days. Whether intentional or not, there are numerous moments in this book that cause me to look at my current surroundings in 2020 and speculate how this year will end and what next year might look like. In my day to day serious world of navigating a pandemic with students and staff being quarantined at every turn and the learning of my students becoming more of a luxury than the main focus of everything previously done in my 40 year career, I wonder when the prophecy of Revelation will more fully unfold.

I like the way this story line causes me to think, “Am I ready for what lies ahead? Am I ready for what could happen in the weeks, months, and possible years ahead? Is my life on God’s trajectory or mine?” I know that my destination, God willing, is going home to Jesus whether through death or the rapture, but I have two adult children and their families for whom I pray unceasingly because they personify Emilio and Lindsay. Will they be ready should the tribulation be here?

Thank you Mark Goodwin for another great series and this first book which aptly picked up from the previous series. This is a GREAT read and I would encourage anyone who is Kingdom minded to partake. You’ll enjoy the action, the thought-provoking storyline, and of course, the eventual and much anticipated closure, and ultimately new beginnings, to God’s true story.
