Or why bodyguards are forbidden in this world?

TLDR: the book is good, but in the end, you will be rolled your eyes at six thousand rpm because the ending is super silly.

I have great expectations for the fourth book because I liked previous books. But it is are never delivered.

This book has several problems.

Overuse Point Of View’s of other characters. In previous books, it works well because there not very much POVs. But here, I have a feeling that MC does not have POV at all. Also, for that reason, the story moves slowly. I was not very interested in other POVs because they are not important. If you want, you can skip parts with not MC POV. But Tess POVs is very fun.

Another problem is the failed character foundation of the final antagonist.
It is just an asshole without foundation to be an asshole. You probably already guess, but no spoilers. It can be done better, but it is not. In the end, we get another Antagonist which almost the same level of assholeness. The author makes two POVs with the antagonist, but it makes nothing better and does not fix the character. So we get Arrogant evil antagonist because he Arrogant and evil. It feels very unnatural.I expected some foundation, some story for antagonist. Other books are fine because there no antagonist.

Not delivered the progression of power of MC. MC just jumped from bowl of boiled water to bowl of hot oil, etc. It feels like movies where the hero is unexpectedly OP because he is the chosen one. Another reason can be that we have a lack of MC POVs.

I regret it when I read such stupidity in the end. I use all my will in the last hour of the story. The more I read, the more story rating is dropped for me. I facepalmed and rolled my eyes at each scene with thoughts, it can’t be worse, but it becomes worse in the next scene. The last hour is the weakest part of the series. At the same time, it has to foreshadow the development story of the next book. But these foreshadows look like a cliche. Knowing how we get to the fourth book, I can understand the next book’s content, so I have lost the motivation to read the next book.

There another problem with the ending, That I can not understand how we get there. We are in the Capital of the Human realm, how it can happen there? Are guards and bodyguards forbidden here? Does the army not exist? OK, I understand that they want to break the alliance. But like that? There are they silly too? It can be done more effectively than that.

I probably skip this series or make a great pause.
