This story is truly gutted me emotionally. It shows the truths of what it really means to be in the grasp of an abuser. These three characters are all very different and you get to see into each other their minds as everything plays out. I could barely catch my breathe as I was on the edge of my seat from start to finish. Its such a powerful read and it needs to be experienced, it needs to be heard. My heart hurt for Gianna, her relationship with Ethan was an awful, brutal, soul crushing, broken, and twisted thing. Her journey to survive and piece together all thats been shattered took a strength that would bring you to your knees. Derek is the complete opposite on Ethan. He walked beside Gianna through it all, there to show her that life isn’t all nightmares and pain. The narrators did an outstanding job. They truly embraced these characters and I’m just blown away by their performance. Hands down one of my top favorites of 2020.
