Lily Morton and Joel Leslie’s partnership is “practically perfect in every way” with Joel doing a wonderful job conveying the snarky humor of Lily’s wonderfully developed characters. From the grandmotherly cook to the dour driver (who seems to channel Marvin the Paranoid Android), even the supporting cast is unique and appealing.
But the main act is the found family that develops between the protagonists and includes the lovable little boy who comes bundled with one. There’s remarkably little angst and the bumps along the way to the happy conclusion never seem contrived.
Really, my only complaint is that it had to end! Well done.
