- This is the first book of A.R. Shaw’s that I’ve experienced, but it definitely won’t be the last. It’s the end of the world as we know it. Global warming? Nope, this time around the Earth is slipping (RAPIDLY!!!) into a new ice age. While the effects of the climate change is world spanning, the book itself is an intimate story of a mother and son trying to survive. It’s fast paced, well told, and I enjoyed the heck out of it. I blasted through this book, listening to the entire thing in less than a day, every time I put it down I’d end up slipping my headphones on again in before too long. Guess that’s as good an endorsement as I can make.
Kevin Pierce is the narrator and he once again does an excellent job. Anytime I see he is the narrator of a book, especially an ‘end of the world’ type book, I know I am in for an enjoyable experience.
