Not one single book in the series has disappointed. This book is really part 2 of Uncrowned, the book that preceded this one.
Characters progression and personal stories, excellent.
Arc story, excellent
Villain’s, excellent (some sympathy but not enough to turn the story gray)
Comedic interludes and injections, excellent
The desire to quickly go to the next book, sadly excellent (sad in that at this time Wintersteel is the last book)
I’m thinking this series is probably the best I have ever read and that includes Game of thrones, Hunger Games and The girl with the dragon tattoo. If you are just reading this review out of serendipity, please go directly to the first book and then proceed. You will thank me at some point in the universe.
