Although I enjoyed the story somewhat (especially the magic system) and listened to all 80ish hours, I found myself wondering why. The only thing really redeeming about the characters was their loyalty to one another. But, that was often strained with lead characters betraying one another almost all the time. I enjoyed the narration more than anything. I wouldn’t have started the book had I known a little more about the journey and where it would finish; felt hollow.
