This is more a single book than a trilogy. As such it has a single plot that meanders slowly through the three parts – each of which repeats background in a futile attempt to standalone. There is action, adventure and cross-country treks to attain redemption. There’s a fair amount of “information” straight out of a peepers guide to nuclear war… but compared to other novels in this genre, it is very low key and well positioned. Much of the drama in the book is created by listening on the characters’ thoughts and motivations. Those are equally repetitive. Overall, I think this would have been more enjoyable as a single book of about half the length… but it’s a solid listen. I received this audiobook for free in exchange for a review
