Dennis Vanderkerken and Dakota Krout combined to write a mostly uplifting fantasy that I believe fits solidly into the YA category. As I’ve mentioned several times in past reviews, my largest dispute with the series is the overabundance use of mountainous verbiage covering the esoteric minutia involved in cultivating. So much so that at several times during listening to sections in the series, I felt same way I do whenever I need to study a DMV manual for an upcoming driver’s license exam.

Still, as mentioned my previous review, the authors had done a very good job at creating good backstories to the various characters that I wanted to continue until the end of the primary quest. This book does complete the primary quest but suggests that there may be a continuation of the series or, possibly, a tangential start of a new series.

Props to Travis Baldree for his continued and consistent superb narration performance.
