The beginning is shakey with odd pacing. But the characters are great and the plot does end up becoming compelling. I’m excited to see where the story goes from here. Biggest complaint is way to many pop culture references. This is made more jarring by how hard the writing avoids genre convention terminology like ‘Tank’ or ‘DPS’. I assume the references were to make it feel like this could be our world in ten years, but then the conspicuous absence of standard gaming jargon cuts the other way.
