This was a great book that completely drew me in. I listened to the first book incessantly. I don’t advise doing this, it might cause you to forget this is not real (yet). The characters were relatable even though they are much younger than myself. I also appreciate finally encounter a character who is an African American; it’s such a rarity in books like this.
I did find some of the biblical verses the author used as Chapter intros to not be applicable to the chapters that followed. There is a great deal of violence which might be off-putting to some readers, but in a post EMP world there is no law!
