The 1st book read like a preppers how-to novel with baited questions and lengthy, over technical answers which did not add to the story. The 2nd book had promise. The 3rd book kept building on the 2nd nicely only to fall utterly flat on its face with the very last line in the book leaving readers with the moral of the story which is shoot first, ask questions later. The main character ends up learning nothing through his journey, he merely replaces his family for a new one. The end. So disappointing.
