Andrew is an extremely band and boring. The only personality traits he has are he’s timid and he’s a music snob. Spencer was a pretty interesting character, but the relationship felt very insta-love to me (at least on Spencer’s side), especially because I just couldn’t understand why he’s so freakin fascinated with Andrew. So much of the book is talking about how Andrew isn’t like other people. He doesn’t listen to pop music. He’s different because he likes classical music and jazz. But the sections talking about classical music and jazz are clearly written by someone who doesn’t know or care about music, so the whole interest just felt incredibly hollow. I usually like reading mm romance books because they usually don’t have the same old cookie cutter characters that other romance books have, but Andrew just felt like a male version of the “I’m not like other girls” trope.
