I enjoyed this book even more than Book 1. C. J. Aaron introduced a whole new cast of characters, including antagonists, monsters and associates. a new land and more diverse challenges. Ryl and Andr find themselves in the Outlands with Ryl seriously debilitated due to the poisonous treatment he was given during his stay at the Stocks. Then things get freaky.
We also find a wondrous location unveiled known as Vim, however, ever there they are faced with many challenges and quests.
What follows next is a small fellowship venturing a perilous journey on a quest to free the tributes from the king and his realm’s vampiric clutches.
Travis Baldree again nails the performance with aplomb and delight.
