This is an impressive first outing for a series. It’s a little heavy on soap opera drama, and short on believable action. And as such, there is not a lot of swift reactionary violence after the fact. The story revolves around attorney Dillon, who’s looking for his daughter, who just happens to be on an airplane, and Holly, a potential paramour. So all of the character dynamics are there, it’s just the cataclysmic change that is missing. Some authors capture it, while others don’t. But still, this story is different in its approach, but that keeps things interesting. Looking forward to book 2.

Of course, the best part is that Kevin Pierce narrates. He elevates everything he reads. Another brilliant performance here.
