I wanted to listen to this book again less than 6 months after the first time. I put it off a little due to my backlog of new books, but indulged myself around my birthday and loved it just as much the second time. I check almost weekly to see if there’s a release date announced for the next in this series. It is SO funny. I laughed out loud multiple times per chapter. Hutchinson does a great job of parodying tropes or turning them on their head, yet he also knows how to use them effectively (often lampshaded, though not always). It makes for a delightful read.
And a delightful listen. Phil Thron is incredible here. Randy’s Batman-esque growl is the standout, but I also love the way he sounds like he’s channeling Jonathan Banks for another character. And the track of outtakes at the end is hysterical. I could not recommend this book more!
