I seriously loved this book – it had so much more to it than I expected & I felt allllll the feelings. It was dark & light, sad & funny, sweet & sour. Zane and Roach are super flawed – especially Zane – and I can see some people having a hard time accepting some of those flaws, but I encourage anyone feeling iffy about either of them to the point where they might DNF to keep going, b/c they became so worth it for me. (Although, I personally never had the desire to stop listening/reading, because I always felt there was more hiding beneath the surface with both characters & their world.)

It was also suspenseful – there were a couple times I switched from audio to print for a couple chapters because I NEEDED to know how certain things would pan out as quickly as possible, so I could relax a bit. And that was despite the audio being really enjoyable – I knew going in that I like Kirt Graves as a narrator & I was not disappointed at all. He did a great job of differentiating voices, pacing and letting the emotions of the characters come out. (I don’t know if Zane’s Southern accent was perfectly on point, being a Northerner, but it was good enough for me.)

I totally recommend this book.
