I might give this one 4.5 stars simply because the newness has worn off, but it’s still a great story and characters and I enjoy devouring the books as quickly as I can–like a bowl of M &Ms. Sweet, chocolatey brain candy. Mmmmmm. When city becomes an undead nightmare with a big god-sized deity being summoned into the world to make matters even worse, our wannabe supervillain/anti-hero is having an even harder time NOT being the good guy. Talk about a crisis of conscience! Like they say, a good deed never goes unpunished, and the level of punishment certainly matches the good deed of saving the world.

While I really like Jefferey Kafer, his limited voice range makes it a challenge to know who is talking, and his German pronunciation is just abysmal. Having a crude grasp of German myself, hearing him butcher the word soldaten was like nails on a chalkboard. Other than that, no complaints.
