Based on the summary I was expecting this to be more bog standard litrpg. The preview didn’t help. The only thing that brought me in was the narrator. He’s done several of my favorite books and I figured I’d give him a chance to impress

I’m glad I did. Not only is this book fairly well written, at least in my opinion, but that combination with the way Travis can fully bring out a humorous situation to its peak makes this one of my favorite books of the year.

It’s not perfect, but it kept me entertained most of the way through. Can’t ask for much more than that. Though I do wish he had a few more stages and made this book a few hours longer. He goes from garden snake, to deadly hunter far too quickly. I also long how he’s already self identifies as a snake within the first hour. Abandons his humanity in a hurry. But I suspect that’s more because of the body he inhabits.
