I have generally enjoyed this series, but this book.. wow. I finished listening, but only because I forced myself to finish it. The author repeats themselves so often, providing recaps from just 10 minutes earlier, and not just a few times. This book seems like the author had a word count to fill, and just said the same thing over again. Not restated, but actually says the same thing.
The content is light, shallow, and completely predictable. The main character is an idiot, not realizing something completely obvious, and then, after hours of acting like they didn’t know what we, the listener, knew, they suddenly remember, but only when it’s a critical plot point.
I’m also not a fan of the narrator. He may be good on some books, but this is the last book in this series I’ll be buying.
