Franklin Horton has a winner here. Conor Maguire is an Irishman in the United States, along with his daughter Barb, when terrorist attacks devastates the United States. He’s the son of an IRA bomber and that particular skill set he also has a knack for in the United States. His story is one of hardship, and brute survival. The coolest thing about the Mad Mick is how the characters in this story, namely Conor and Barb, who overlap with the characters in The Locker Nine series. Especially in Grace Under Fire (Locker Nine book 2). So it’s a separate series, but having story overlap is very unique. Conor, though tough as nails, has a heart of gold. And Ragus is another character to note. Barb’s kidnapping reveals to those who don’t know who the Mad Mick really is. So hang on to your seats. This is going to be a fun series.

Kevin Pierce knocks it out of the park. His Irish accent is done as well as can be done. Who cares if it’s not perfect. I love it because I love how he puts everything into his narrations. The story just comes alive.
