Hoh whaaaa the honest ef…
This has been the only audiobook of hundreds that I just could not look forward to. The story? B+/A-
The acting..
The quiet, calmer voice actor for Max’s side of things was enjoyable, but the other gentleman actor, who helped us navigate things from Jordan’s view, had me turning down my Bluetooth headphones and pulling faces.. I honestly couldn’t believe what I was hearing. Idk what was the matter with it! It was…. too much? Too loud? Too over-the-top, too goofy, and wayyyy too melodramatic.
In other greats stories by the author (Openly Straight + Openly Ben) there were also characters in high school who were young and silly, and I actually enjoyed listening to the narrating.. But half of the voice acting in this book just felt off, inauthentic, and left me feeling severely uncomfortable.

Props to the two actors for doing their thing though! It must be amazing to get paid to do what you love, to do your craft.. and props to the author, on that note!

I don’t like leaving yucky reviews but by the gods! I couldn’t stop hoping for the end of this book to come sooner.
No.
Bueno.

No hard feelings though, only love.
….And constructive criticism 🙂
