Truly, in all of PA fiction, there is nothing better than an EMP series. Ryan Westfield knocks one out of the park with this book. Max is a pretty ordinary guy, a mid level prepper. He’s an every man. So many of the men in these series are dedicated preppers, which makes it harder for the ordinary reader to completely identify, try as though we’d like. IN an ideal world everyone would be so prepared. But the situation with Max and Mandy is so realistic that one is immediately drawn into the chaotic, hectic, and completely uncertain world post EMP. It like an all too real possibility in our chaotic society, with or without an actual EMP. So it’s a thriller, horror, and adventure series all in one.
One cannot say enough about Kevin Pierce and his extraordinary narration. For a dedicated PA listener, one cannot listen to a post EMP series without his voice guiding the reader through it. He’s the steering wheel here, and he’s always perfect. Can’t wait for book 2 and then on and on. These never get old.
