This is the epic conclusion to the Legend of the Gods series! It’s full of action as events lead toward the final battle against the Tsar. Devon and Braidon trek through the forest toward Trola as Alana learns to settle her differences with Enala. In the meantime, Queen Merydith and the Northlanders are determined to put an end to the Tsar’s reign of terror. The characters have grown so much over the last couple books, and they really branch out in this final volume! Braidon starts to come into his own and learns to fend for himself, Alana struggles to reconcile her two selves, and Devon has to decide if he can overcome his sins of the past. You learn more about the past and how the Tsar came to be so evil and as the story progresses all my questions were answered and the sub plots concluded. The end is satisfying but bittersweet, but I won’t say more than that. In amongst the action, there are some deep thoughts on whether war is ever necessary and on the meaning of family which add an extra layer to the story. As usual the world building is excellent and I always enjoy learning more about the land of The Three Nations! Overall this is an excellent read, and I highly recommend it!

I listened to the audiobook version of this book and I loved the narrator! He does an excellent job and he really suited the story!
