Three stars is pretty good

I liked this story, although it is a very light meal compared to the more solid steaks in scifi & fantasy. This lightness can be found in all aspects: world building, character building, plot, and even the harem aspect (which scenes are really few and far between, too few to be called ‘harem litrpg’, to my taste).

That being said, it still is a nice little bite. It’s entertaining enough, it has a good ending in the sense that one level is completed with a cliffhanger for the next level – without leaving the reader hanging out to dry.

Narration is okay too, he had no trouble keeping my interest, although he did read a bit staccato.

So overall, a pretty good listen – which makes it a solid three stars in my book (and also according to Audible’s definition of the stars).

If offered the chance, I would listen to the sequel too.

A note on the sample: this is not representative of the story, it’s from the introductory chapter and the actual story is based on a completely different premise. The introduction reads like a war story, whereas the rest of the story is actual litrpg, albeit with a twist. In my opinion that first chapter took way to long just for getting the MC to where the rest of the story (and the premise) takes place. If it were up to me, I’d choose a more representative piece as my book sample.
