I really enjoyed this touching, powerful audiobook. Jag is a young man with secrets. Even his name is closely guarded by a set of rules that keeps him moving from place to place, and more importantly keeps him safe. He meets and gets into a very hot sexual relationship with club-owner Michael. Michael is falling in love for the first time since he lost his husband, but he is blocked at every turn by Jag’s rules. He wants to know Jag, to earn his trust, and to help him. The truth comes out slowly, and it was heart-breaking to eventually find out what kept Jag fearful and on the run. These MC’s are wonderful and so well-written, and performed, that I felt the angst and emotion and fear that resonated through Jag. In the end, the resolution was surprisingly quick and easy after all the drama, and that’s why I only gave 4 stars for the story and overall rating. I can’t believe it would be that easy.
The narration was strong and really brought the characters to life.
